Abstract

The labor force based on the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) in August 2024 was 3.12 million people, an increase of 0.13 million people compared to August 2023. The Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) increased by 1.78 percentage points compared to August 2023.
The number of employed persons in August 2024 was 3.02 million, an increase of 0.13 million people from August 2023. The sector with the largest increase in employment was Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, with an increase of 0.09 million people.
In August 2024, 0.81 million people (26.68 percent) were employed in formal activities, an increase of 1.19 percentage points compared to August 2023.
The percentage of underemployed individuals in August 2024 increased by 4.17 percentage points, while the proportion of part-time workers decreased by 1.63 percentage points compared to August 2023.
The Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) in August 2024 was 3.02 percent, a decrease of 0.12 percentage points compared to August 2023."
