Abstract

  • In October 2024, international visitor arrivals in Indonesia were 1.19 million. International visitors decreased by 6.68 percent compared to September 2024 (m-to-m), but increased by 22.01 percent compared to October 2023 (y-on-y). International visitor arrivals in October 2024 were dominated by Malaysian (16.26 percent), Australian (12.61 percent), and Singaporean (8.90 percent).
  • The number of domestic tourism trips in October 2024, reached 81.43 million. This number decreased by 2.32 percent compared to September 2024 (m-to-m), but increased by 29.88 percent compared to October 2023 (y-on-y). From January to October 2024, domestic tourism trips recorded 839.39 million, an increase of 21.87 percent compared to the same period in the previous year (c-to-c).
  • In October 2024, the number of outbound trips was 731.01 thousand. It increased by 10.61 percent compared to September 2024 (m-to-m) and 10.06 percent compared to the same month in the previous year (y-on-y). Malaysia became the leading destination country for outbound trips in October 2024 (29.55 percent), followed by Saudi Arabia (15.91 percent), Singapore (13.80 percent), and China (5.98 percent).
  • The room occupancy rate (ROR) of star hotels in October 2024 was 55.67 percent, which increased by 2.65 percentage points compared to October 2023 (y-on-y) and 0.99 percentage points compared to the previous month (m-to-m). Meanwhile, the room occupancy rate of non-star hotels was 25.61 percent, which increased by 0.80 percentage points compared to October 2023 (y-on-y), but decreased by 2.25 percentage points compared to the previous month (m-to-m). The average length of stay at star hotels in October 2024 was 1.64 nights, which increased by 0.01 percentage points compared to October 2023 (y-on-y).
