Abstract

In September 2024, the level of inequality in the expenditure of the population of NTT Province as measured using the Gini Ratio is 0.3155. This figure decreased by 0.0007 points when compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2024 which was 0.3162 and decreased by 0.0095 points when compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2023 which was 0.3250.
The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2024 was recorded at 0.282; an increase compared to Gini Ratio in March 2024 which was 0.281 and down when compared to the Mrch 2023 Gini Ratio of 0.299.
The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2024 was recorded at 0.306; an increase compared to the March 2024 Gini Ratio of 0.305 and down when compared to the March 2023 Gini Ratio of 0.307.
Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent of the population is 20.79 percent. This means that population expenditure in September 2024 is in the category of low inequality. If broken down by region, in urban areas the figure was recorded at 23.03 percent, which means it is classified as low inequality. Meanwhile, for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 21.55 percent, which means it is classified as low inequality.
