Abstract

  • FTT is the ratio of the index of prices received by farmers (It) and the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib).
  • FTT is an indicator to measure the farmers’ purchasing power parity in rural areas. FTT shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumption and production costs.
  • In January 2025, national FTT was 123.68 or increased by 0.73 percent compared with that in December 2024. The increase in FTT was due to the increase in the index of prices received by farmers (It) at 0.82 percent which was higher than the increase in the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib) at 0.09 percent.
  • In January 2025, Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province had the highest increase in FTT at 3.64 percent. On the other hand, Sulawesi Barat Province experienced the highest decrease in FTT at 2.54 percent.
  • The price index of household consumption (IKRT) in January 2025 increased by 0.03 percent in Indonesia, which was mainly caused by the increase in food, beverage, and tobacco groups.
  • Nationally, Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (NTUP) was 126.54 in January 2025 or increased by 0.51 percent compared with December 2024.
  • Rice sales transactions at the huller level at 33 provinces during January 2025, recorded transactions of the premium quality at 36.36 percent, the medium quality at 52.86 percent, the submedium quality rice at 9.31 percent, and the other quality rice at 1.47 percent.
  • In January 2025, the average price of premium quality rice at the huller level was Rp13,112 per kg or increased by 0.82 percent compared to the price of similar quality rice in December 2024, while the price of medium quality rice at the huller level was Rp12,609 per kg or increased by 1.29 percent, and the average price of submedium quality rice at the huller level was Rp12,721 per kg or increased by 2.66 percent.
  • Meanwhile, the average price of the broken quality rice at the huller level was Rp12,178 per kg or decreased by 4.11 percent.  
    Compared to the January 2024, the average price of rice at the huller level in January 2025 for premium, medium, submedium, and broken quality decreased by 3.98 percent, 4.39 percent, 2.25 percent, and 7.44 percent respectively.
