Abstract

The year-on-year (y-on-y) deflation rate in February 2025 was 0.09 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.48. The highest deflation by province was in Papua Barat Province at 1.98 percent, with a CPI of 103.98, while the lowest was in Nusa Tenggara Barat Province at 0.01 percent, with a CPI of 105.81. The highest inflation occurred in Papua Pegunungan Province at 7.99 percent, with a CPI of 115.17, while the lowest was in Riau Province at 0.02 percent with a CPI of 106.42. The highest deflation by regency/municipality was in Muko Muko Regency at 2.10 percent with a CPI of 104.29, while the lowest was seen in Tasikmalaya Municipality at 0.01 percent with a CPI of 105.66. On the other hand, the highest inflation by regency/municipality was in Jayawijaya Regency at 7.99 percent with a CPI of 115.17, while the lowest was in Kupang Municipality at 0.01 percent with a CPI of 105.61.
Deflation occurred as prices decreased, as indicated by the fall in two expenditure groups indices, namely: Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group by 12,08 percent and Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group by 0.26 percent. Meanwhile, groups with inflation were Food, Beverages, and Tobacco Group of 2.25 percent; Clothing and Footwear Group of 1.18 percent; Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance Group of 1.02 percent; Health Group of 1.79 percent; Transport Group of 0.94 percent; Recreation, Sport, and Culture Group of 1.14 percent; Education Group of 2.04 percent; Food and Beverage Serving Services/Restaurant Group of 2.47 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services Group of 8.43 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate was 0.48 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 1.24 percent in February 2025.
For the Core Component, the February 2025 y-on-y, m-to-m, and y-to-d inflation rates were 2.48 percent, 0.25 percent, and 0.55 percent, respectively.
