National Farmers’ Terms of Trade (FTT) February 2025 was 123.45 or decreased 0.18 percent and the price of premium quality rice at the huller level decreased by 0.25 percent.

Abstract

  • FTT is the ratio of the index of prices received by farmers (It) and the index of
    prices paid by farmers (Ib).
  • FTT is an indicator to measure the farmers’ purchasing power parity in rural areas.
    FTT shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services
    consumption and production costs.
  • In February 2025, national FTT was 123.45 or decreased by 0.18 percent compared
    with that in January 2025. The decrease in FTT was due to the decrease in the
    index of prices received by farmers (It) at 0.50 percent which was higher than the
    decrease in the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib) at 0.32 percent.
  • In February 2025, Sumatera Barat Province had the highest decrease in FTT at
    2.79 percent. On the other hand, Sulawesi Utara Province experienced the highest
    Increase in FTT at 4.14 percent.
  • The price index of household consumption (IKRT) in February 2025 decreased
    by 0.55 percent in Indonesia, which was mainly caused by the decrease in food,
    beverage, and tobacco groups also Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas, and Other
    Fuels groups.
  • Nationally, Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (NTUP) was 125.69 in February 2025 or
    decreased by 0.67 percent compared with January 2025.
  • Rice sales transactions at the huller level at 33 provinces during February 2025, recorded transactions of the premium quality at 36.50 percent, the medium quality at 51.36 percent, the submedium quality at 10.23 percent, and the broken quality at 1.91 percent.
  • In February 2025, the average price of premium quality at the huller level was Rp13,079 per kg or decreased by 0.25 percent compared to the price of similar quality rice in January 2025, while the price of medium quality at the huller level was Rp12,596 per kg or decreased by 0.10 percent, and the average price of submedium quality at the huller level was Rp12,646 per kg or decreased by 0.60 percent. Meanwhile, the average price of the broken quality at the huller level was Rp12,942 per kg or increased by 6.28 percent.
  • Compared to February 2024, the average price of rice at the huller level in February 2025 for premium, medium, submedium, and broken quality decreased by 9.95 percent, 11.05 percent, 7.53 percent, and 4.89 percent respectively.
